Class 4 impact-rated shingles.

The highest impact rating a shingle can earn — UL 2218 Class 4. Built with polymer-modified or ultra-dense construction to shrug off Minnesota hail. Many insurance carriers offer premium discounts when you install a Class 4 roof.

Why Class 4

The highest impact rating a shingle can earn.

UL 2218 is the industry standard impact test — a 2" steel ball dropped from 20 feet, twice on the same spot, with no cracking on the back of the shingle. Class 4 is the top tier. For a state that averages multiple severe hail events per year, it's the upgrade that pays itself back.

Maximum impact rating

UL 2218 Class 4 — survives a 2" steel ball dropped from 20 feet without cracking.

Possible insurance discount

Many MN carriers offer 10–30% premium discounts on the wind/hail portion of your policy.

Longer real-world life

Polymer-modified asphalt stays flexible in cold weather and resists bruising from hail.

  • We provide the UL 2218 certificate for your insurer
  • Eligible for full system manufacturer warranties
  • Better resale value and home inspection grades
  • Fewer claims = better long-term insurability
  • Same install crew, same warranty registration
Installed to spec

A Class 4 shingle is only Class 4 if it's installed right.

We install every Class 4 system as a complete, matched roof — same-brand starter, underlayment, ice & water shield, ridge vent, and accessories. That's what keeps the impact rating valid and the manufacturer warranty enforceable.

Full tear-off

We strip to the deck, inspect every sheet, and replace anything compromised before underlayment.

Manufacturer system

Matched starter, underlayment, hip & ridge — no mix-and-match that voids the warranty.

UL 2218 certificate

We provide the documentation your insurance carrier needs to apply the Class 4 discount.

Warranty registered

We register the full system warranty on your behalf, including the impact-rating coverage.
